August 2020 : We mourn the death of our former Vicar, Ken Baker and pray for his wife Dorothy.

Ken's work at Aston Villa

His funeral is at 12:30pm on 9th September 2020 in Lilbourne.

I have been advised by the Revd. Canon Richard Cattle, who will be taking the service, that the funeral of Revd. Ken Baker will take place on Wednesday 9th September at 12.30pm at All Saints Church,, Lilbourne, followed by burial at Lilbourne Cemetery, (next to the garage).

The service in church will be limited to 30 persons, and in these strange times the family must choose who those will be.   However, Richard thinks that if anyone from the benefice wishes to attend, he sees no problem to them being outside the church or at the cemetery, whilst applying the social distancing rules.   The service in church will take approximately 30 minutes.

Please be advised that both the church and the cemetery are a short distance outside of the village itself, and as Ken served sixteen parishes in this area, and along with other interests,  it is likely that others could be attending in the same way, so parking may not be easy.

Alternatively, the church (Welford) will be open from 12:15pm for private prayer for those who would like to remember Ken in this way.
If you feel that you would like to celebrate his life but do not feel able to go to his funeral I will be leading a short time of prayer at 12.30pm at St. Mary’s in Welford at which we can celebrate his life, and unite with his family and friends at his funeral.
Please note that hand sanitiser will be available to use upon entry, masks must be worn and social distancing must be adhered to.
